Our Bees

Bees play a vital role in the pollination of a wide variety of cultivated and wild plants. They are essential for preserving the floral biodiversity of our region and contribute to the resilience and balance of agricultural ecosystems.
In addition to their invaluable contribution to nature, bees also provide us with a wonderful gift: our organic honey.

Energy from olive pits

The olive stone, composed mainly of lignin and cellulose, is crushed into small fragments of 5 to 7 millimetres during the pressing process and recovered at the end of production. It represents approximately 13% of the olive pomace generated.
Using a dedicated separation system, these fragments are extracted from the pomace and packaged in 20-kilogram sacks. We use this sustainable by-product to heat our homes, while any surplus is made available to local customers.

Olive pomace for soil improvement

After extracting approximately 13% oil and a further 13% olive kernels, around 74% of the processed olives remain as olive pomace. With an average of 300 tonnes of olives processed each year, this results in approximately 222 tonnes of olive pomace collected in our storage tank.

Following a natural fermentation period, this olive pomace is transformed into an excellent soil improver, returning valuable organic matter to our olive groves. Through this practice, we are able to reduce the need for additional fertilisers and support the natural regeneration and vitality of our soils.

It is a true pleasure to see the rich diversity of wild plants and insects thriving in our olive groves. It is equally rewarding to know that our production process creates no waste and that every part of the olive finds a meaningful purpose.
Perhaps it goes without saying, but our vision is for a future where energy production respects nature, avoids pollution, and reduces dependence on sources that contribute to CO₂ emissions.
